16 Weeks!

How Far Along? 15 Weeks today!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +2  – This is the first week that my clothes definitely feel TIGHT! Not so much fun! I’m still trying to hold off on buying maternity clothes, because I just don’t feel like I’m big enough to be buying them yet. My first splurge will most likely be some work pants, since that’s what I wear most of the time.
Baby Related Purchases: I forgot to mention in my 15 week post that we have a crib! Well kinda…you see, we did Christmas a little differently in my family this year. We all pulled names for one other adult to lessen the number of gifts we all had to buy. My grandparents pulled my name and saw that I had “crib” on my wish list. So, they gave us some money to buy a crib when we are ready and have made our final selection. If you have ever seen my “Baby Baareman” pinboard on Pinterest, you will notice that I love white cribs. So I’m leaning towards this one right now.

Stretch marks: Nope
Sleep: Still getting up in the middle of the night. I read online somewhere that you should start exclusively sleeping on your side after 16 weeks, so I’ve been using my trusty Snoogle a lot more!
Movement: Nothing yet!
What I miss: Still missing alcohol. Also, I’m realizing that it was nice to eat and drink whatever I wanted (prior to pregnancy) without a second thought. Now, I really have to weigh my choices and ask, “How badly do I want that soda, dessert, etc.?” I am realizing on my stressful days, I really like to eat candy/dessert and have a diet coke in the afternoon – so I am missing those binges, haha.
Cravings: Nothing in particular – other than eating a TON of cheese fries at Outback, but I think I am eating more – and feeling bigger as a result!
Anything making you queasy or sick: So thankful I’m not feeling sick these days! 🙂
Gender: Find out on Feb. 14th! I can’t wait! Only 4 more weeks. It is crazy to think that if I had an ultrasound today, we could know!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Nothing new
Belly Button In or Out? In
Happy or Moody most of the time: Unfortunately I think I get grouchy easier (maybe that can’t be blamed on pregnancy…). I’m trying to work on that and have a good attitude!
Worries: I still worry that everything will be alright and that the baby will be healthy. This has been a faith building time for me – learning to trust God more and more in this area!
Best moments this week: Traveled to Atlanta for my sister Kristen’s first wedding shower. Jason came with me (to Atlanta – not the shower) and we had a great day with the family. I got to see Kristen in her wedding dress – so pretty! We also all had dinner at Outback with the whole fam. Good times. Enjoyed dinner and a movie with friends (How to Train Your Dragon – really good!), and also enjoyed time with Jason this week just hanging out and watching movies together. We just watched Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 on our Roku – both were really great! Finally, I had my 16 week appointment at the doctor yesterday and although it was annoying to wait for an hour – it was all worth it to hear that heart beat!
Looking forward to: Gender reveal!
Size of Baby: About the size of an avocado!

What Baby’s Up To: (from BabyCenterGet ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he’s about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren’t recognizable yet. He’s even started growing toenails. And there’s a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

  1. Your so darn tiny! I'm bigger than you & not as far along. Wait, I think I was bigger than you before I got pregnant LOL!

That crib is beautiful. We used a white crib for my son (still are). I'm thinking if this one is a girl I'm going to give her the white crib and buy him a darker wood one. Just a thought, who knows 🙂
