What I’m Loving Wednesday – Week 4

{1} I’m loving that we got our first MacBook in the mail yesterday! In fact, I’m typing my very first blog post from it right now! After lots of patience, we finally get to enjoy our very own new laptop! I realized that this is the first laptop or computer for that matter that I have ever bought for myself, so maybe that’s why I’m so excited! 🙂 I also have a tip for anyone out there who wants to buy Apple products. Buy them on Amazon! Why? No Taxes and Free Shipping – if you are willing to wait a few days. We got ours for $940. We would have had to pay a lot more with taxes even with Jason’s student discount if we had bought it at the Apple Store.
{2}I’m loving that it’s Wednesday, or as I affectionately call it – “Hump Day”. This means we are more than halfway through the work week and only two days away from the weekend! Woo Hoo!
{3} I’m loving the fun (and practical) things that we can buy now that we got our tax return in the bank account! Hence the new Macbook. To name a few:
-Comfy new Merrell Shoes for me – exactly the same as the ones I had before, but hey, when you find something you love, why change?
-2 new pairs of dress pants for Jason – we have to special order ALL of his pants!
-2 new pairs of khakis for Jason – the boy was seriously lacking in this area!
-Soil and grass seed for the back yard – it’s a dirt pit right now
-Fertilizer and week killer for the front yard – am I the only girl who LOVES a nice green grass front yard?
{4}I’m loving that I get to go visit my family in Atlanta this weekend! I haven’t seen them since Christmas, so I can’t wait! Plus, my little sister is turning 7 and we are celebrating with a girl’s tea party! On the docket for this week, BBQ dinner at my parents church with David Platt as speaker, B-day party, Day Off on Monday, Outlet Mall Shopping, and Hillsongs Concert on Monday night!
{5} I’m loving that my work’s “Fitness Challenge” is over – this means that I can now eat chocolate, drink caffeine, eat after 9:00pm, and don’t have to work out everyday. I will admit that I enjoyed the competition, even though I didn’t even come close to winning. I also can say that I have learned that I don’t “Need” caffeine to survive. In fact, I’m seriously considering sticking with the “no caffeine” approach to life.
{6} I’m loving that I finished my book “Seeds of Turmoil” yesterday. This means I’m one step closer to my goal of reading 6 books in a year. Next up on my reading list is “Inside the Revolution: How the Followers of Jihad, Jefferson, and Jesus Are Battling to Dominate the Middle East and Transform the World.” I guess you could say that I’m kind of on a Current Events/Middle East kick. I just want to know what they are talking about in the news and be an educated citizen about all the crazy stuff that’s going on in the world right now.
{7}I’m loving the Dave Ramsey Show. Even though it doesn’t broadcast in Augusta, GA, I listen to him everyday on my drive home, courtesy of podcasts and my iphone. I love hearing his advice to all different types of people. I’m encouraged by the people who are doing well – getting out of debt, getting pay raises, and as Dave says “Changing their Family Tree.” Then there are the people who have such horrible and pitiful stories about how they have this mountain of debt to pay off and only a tiny income. Although these stories are very sad, it really makes me thankful for what I have and makes me realize how much the Lord has blessed us with what we have right now. This makes the fact that we more and more in debt every day – due to Jason’s school – a bit more bearable. Thanks Dave! Plus, every day, I probably quote what Dave said on air at least once to Jason. He has the funniest sayings. I guess I just like the tough love approach that he has and how he is sometimes brutally honest with people.

{8}As always, I’m loving my hubby Jason
