19.5 Weeks!

How Far Along? 19 Weeks as of Sunday – so about 19.5 weeks right now.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +9!!!!! I think me and the baby are both going through a growth spurt!
Baby Related Purchases: None this week. However, I have been doing lots of planning for what I’m going to buy….

Our future is a bit up in the air right now- given that Jason is currently job searching. That, combined with the fact that we don’t know the gender yet has made me hold off on most purchases. Despite my elaborate pinning about “Baby Baareman” – our first child will probably have a pretty simple nursery. I like the idea of some simple bedding, and a cute quilt or window curtain to bring a pattern into the room.

Stretch marks: Nope, but REALLY itchy skin.
Sleep: I get up a LOT more in the middle of the night. Still sleeping okay most nights though.
Movement: I definitely think I have felt the baby move multiple times. However, it will move one day, and not the next. So not too consistent, leaving me to wonder (worry) why or why not.
What I miss: Being able to wear anything in my closet! Right now the pickings are slim to things that look good, feel good, etc. I’ve worn my poor pregnancy work pants TONS already. Maybe I’ll get a new pair this weekend…
Cravings: I’ve been having a lot of late night snack attacks (like every night) of either cereal or my old stand-by (ritz crackers + honey/peanut butter & milk) YUM!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No – SO THANKFUL for this! After like 2 whole months of feeling not quite right, it is AMAZING to feel normal again!
Gender: Counting down the days! Only 5 more days of not knowing! Some crazy people have suggested we not find out and wait until the birth – NO WAY! I’m not a very patient person…
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: For the last few weeks I have felt some slight stretching/soreness in my stomach/abs area – for obvious reasons! I have to be careful to not move or stretch to quickly too. Also, I think that pregnancy has messed with my hunger sensers (is that a word)? Sometimes I will feel REALLY hungry, and eat a lot – then, about 30 min. later, I will feel like I ate WAY too much. Is this because the baby is already crowding my stomach?
Belly Button In or Out? In
Happy or Moody most of the time:  For the most part – happy. I have had a few emotional outbursts – but still can count those on one hand – so doing pretty good – right?
Worries: My whole life I have been terrified of the actual “birth” part of bringing a child into the world. Surprisingly, I haven’t worried to much about that part so far. It still seems WAY off in the future. My worries still revolve more around the health/well-being of the child. But honestly, I’m feeling so thankful for the blessing that God has already given us with a healthy pregnancy so far ๐Ÿ™‚
Best moments this week: Me and Jason went BACK to O’Charley’s on Friday night – primarily because we had some coupons. I’m starting to like this “going-out-on-Friday-nights-thing” too bad it might ruin our budget…On Saturday we had AMAZING weather and went on a bike ride through some neighborhoods in Evans. We even got to walk through a near-finished house that was still under construction, which was fun. On Sunday, the weather was AMAZING again and I read outside and we went on a walk together. That night we enjoyed a Superbowl party with our small group and had some super delicious junk food.
Looking forward to: Gender reveal! Next Tuesday! I am so excited to find out. I will be super happy with either one. I just do feel like it will change out lives. If we have a girl, our future will be filled with prom, shopping trips, slumber parties, girl time, etc. If we have a boy, it will be full of sports, daddy-son bonding, etc. Both sound like fun to me!
Size of Baby: Approx. the size of a mango.

What Baby’s Up To: (from BabyCenter
Your baby’s sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don’t be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you. Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom โ€” about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
